Fielding is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of CAPTRUST.

He is the founding partner who led the Raleigh-based firm from an entrepreneurial start up into one of the nation’s largest independent financial advisory firms.  Fielding remains active in all aspects of the business and chairs the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee.

Fielding is well known as a pioneer in the financial services industry and has been recognized for his innovation, entrepreneurship, and leadership on multiple occasions, including:

Being an entrepreneur himself, Fielding has great enthusiasm for supporting causes that focus on innovation and entrepreneurship. Fielding and his wife Kim are the lead benefactors of The Miller School of Entrepreneurship at their alma mater, East Carolina University. He also serves on the Board of Trustees of ECU and as an independent director for Dogwood State Bank.

Fielding has great passion for paying forward his blessings. One pillar of CAPTRUST’s mission is to enrich the lives of children in the communities the firm serves. To help achieve this goal, Fielding enabled creation of the CAPTRUST Community Foundation (CCF) in 2007. This employee-run 501(c)(3) nonprofit foundation aims to contribute time and resources to local and national charities serving the needs of children. Today, the CCF provides financial support to more than 80 children’s charities.
